A puppy cough is one of the things that can be picked up almost anywhere. It can be caused by a bacterial or viral infection. If your puppy develops a cough, head to the vet for a treatment plan to prevent it from becoming something more serious.

Scabies, or sarcoptic mange, is a skin condition that is quite common in young pups and is very contagious. It can make your puppy very irritated and itchy. When you notice these symptoms, it is time to make a trip to the vet for treatment.

Diarrhea is common in puppies that are starting to eat solid foods. But it can also be a sign of illness, so it’s important to get to the vet as as soon as possible.

Vomiting can be another sign of illness. If it continues for 24 hours or more, it’s time for a vet visit. Some puppies vomit easily when they get excited or anxious, if they eat too fast, or run around after eating.

Parvo is a very contagious disease that can cause serious intestinal and heart problems. Symptoms of parvo include lethargy, loss of appetite, sleeping problems, agitation and fever. If you see any of these signs, take your puppy to the vet right away. Parvo can be fatal if left untreated.

Many puppy health problems can be addressed with early detection methods and preventative efforts. Making sure your puppy has all of her vaccinations, and watch for any of the symptoms listed above to ensure that your pup will grow up to be a strong, healthy dog.
